LOOK at all those nails! Those came out of the front legs!
I think they may even have come only out of one leg!
These did ALOT of damage throughout the years!

The piece of rotten wood directly above the bottom
piece of clean replacement wood is the upper thigh to a front
leg that was cut off and will be replaced because it was just
too rotten and splintered to restore.

Here is the beginning of the top thigh replacement piece.
*All replacement pieces were done in poplar to match the
wood of the original horse.

Here is where the rotten top of the thigh connected.
Tom had to carve out the rotten part on the body and
clean it up for a patch.

Here's the patch for the top thigh that is actually part of the body of the horse.



The first of the front repaired legs is re-attached with glue
and dowels.
