 THE REUNION

There's a little cabin waiting--
For my coming, in the spring,
And my heart is palpitating--
With the joy that it will bring.

I can see the smoke a curling--
Thru the pine boughs, high above,
And can hear the waters swirling--
In the trout-stream, that I love.

Then the air is sweetly scented,
When arbutus is in bloom,
There is where I'm most contented,
For there's no such thing as gloom.

There my woodland friends will greet me--
With the songs, I love to hear,
At the "Home Trail" they will meet me,
For my presence, none may fear.

There will be a grand reunion,
When I meet my friends once more,
And we'll hold a real communion--
Just outside my cabin door.
